Hello everyone! Excited to enter into the new season that God has ahead for us, as we expand to Thai and English services this coming Sunday. As we cross over into this next season, I would like to call us as a church to fast, as a symbol of our complete dependence on Him.
As the Israelites were leaving Babylonian behind to return to Jerusalem to rebuild that great city, Ezra paused at the river Ahava (which means “love”) to call a fast in order to show humility and seek God’s help for a safe journey.
Ezra 8:21
21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and all our goods.
In the same way, I and some of the leaders of the church will be doing a 21-day fast starting tomorrow (Thu, Feb 27). Personally, I will be doing a water fast and also cutting out media and smartphone, but you are welcome to join for however long God gives you faith and to cut out whatever God highlights for you. For example, you may want to do just a 3-day fast, you may want to eat just 1 meal a day for 10 days, or you may just want to cut out all social media for 21 days. As with all fasts, the important thing is increasing our focus and dependence on God.
I look forward seeing you at our monthly prayer and worship gathering tomorrow (Thu) evening! We will be praying around Revelation 5:8-10
8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are you to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation,
10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign on the earth.”

สวัสดีทุกคน! สวัสดีทุกคน! ตื่นเต้นที่จะเข้าสู่ฤดูกาลใหม่ที่พระเจ้าเตรียมไว้ให้เราในการขยายการนมัสการภาษาไทยและอังกฤษในวันอาทิตย์ที่จะถึงนี้
เมื่อเราข้ามไปสู่ฤดูกาลหน้า เราอยากจะเรียกคริสตจักรของเราให้อดอาหาร เพื่อเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของการพึ่งพาพระองค์อย่างสมบูรณ์
ขณะที่ชาวอิสราเอลกำลังเดินทางออกจากบาบิโลนเพื่อกลับไปกรุงเยรูซาเล็มเพื่อสร้างเมืองนั้นขึ้นใหม่ เอสราหยุดอยู่ที่แม่น้ำอาฮาวา (ซึ่งแปลว่า "ความรัก") เพื่อเรียกการอดอาหารเพื่อแสดงความถ่อมตัวและขอความช่วยเหลือจากพระเจ้าสำหรับการเดินทางอย่างปลอดภัย

21 ข้าพเจ้าประกาศที่ริมลำน้ำอาหะวาให้ถืออดอาหาร เพื่อเราจะถ่อมใจลงต่อหน้าพระเจ้าของเรา และอธิษฐานทูลขอให้ทั้งตัวเรา ลูกหลาน และข้าวของทุกอย่างเดินทางโดยปลอดภัย
ในทำนองเดียวกัน ฉันและผู้นำคริสตจักรบางคนจะอดอาหาร 21 วัน เริ่มตั้งแต่วันพรุ่งนี้ (พฤหัสบดีที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์) ส่วนตัวจะงดอาหาร มีเดีย และสมาร์ทโฟนครับ
แต่คุณสามารถอดอาหารตามระยะเวลาที่พระเจ้าประทานความเชื่อแก่คุณ และอดอาอะไรก็ตามที่พระเจ้าทรงเน้นให้คุณ ตัวอย่างเช่น คุณอาจต้องการอดอาหารเพียง 3 วัน คุณอาจต้องการรับประทานอาหารเพียงวันละ 1 มื้อเป็นเวลา 10 วัน หรือคุณอาจต้องการตัดโซเชียลมีเดียทั้งหมดเป็นเวลา 21 วัน เช่นเดียวกับการอดอาหารอื่นๆ สิ่งสำคัญคือพึ่งพาและโฟกัสต่อพระเจ้า
เราหวังว่าจะอธิษฐานและนมัสการกับคุณพรุ่งนี้ (พฤ) เย็น! เราจะอธิษฐานเกี่ยวกับ วิวรณ์ 5:8-10
8 เมื่อทรงรับแล้ว สิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งสี่กับเหล่าผู้อาวุโสทั้งยี่สิบสี่คนก็หมอบกราบลงเบื้องหน้าพระเมษโปดก ต่างถือพิณกับขันทองคำที่เต็มด้วยเครื่องหอมซึ่งเป็นคำอธิษฐานของประชากรของพระเจ้า 9 และขับร้องเพลงบทใหม่ว่า
“พระองค์ทรงสมควรที่จะรับหนังสือม้วน
และเปิดผนึกตราของหนังสือนั้นออก
เพราะพระองค์ทรงถูกประหารแล้ว
และด้วยพระโลหิตของพระองค์ได้ทรงซื้อ
มนุษย์ทั้งหลายถวายแด่พระเจ้า
จากทุกเผ่า ทุกภาษา ทุกหมู่ชน และทุกชาติ
10 ทรงโปรดให้เขาทั้งหลายเป็นอาณาจักรและเป็นปุโรหิตรับใช้พระเจ้าของเรา
และพวกเขาจะครอบครองโลก”
